A different kind of light: Nu Quantum is one of the first companies world-wide developing commercial single-photon source technology. You will be part of the team developing the first generation of Nu Quantum single-photon source products. You will be involved in the design, fabrication, measurement and optimisation of the single-photon devices, as well as the design, implementation, and use of the confocal microscopy and quantum optics measurement suite.

Qualifications, skills, and experience
PhD or equivalent industry experience (4+ years) on experimental optics, quantum optics, semiconductor photonics or optoelectronics. Skills may include some or all of the following:
Proven ability and appetite to improve the performance of novel mesoscopic and nano photonic devices through design and fabrication, e.g. GaAs quantum dots, terahertz lasers, quantum cascade lasers, transition-edge sensors.
Proven experience with complex optical measurement instruments and techniques e.g. single-photon spectroscopy, laser cooling, ion traps, optical lattices, interferometry, confocal microscopy, photon correlation.
Proven ability to design an experiment
Proven ability to collect, analyse and interpret experimental data
NOTE: experience with solid-state single-photon sources is not a requirement: top-level candidates with and without this experience are encouraged to apply.
LabView and Python competence for instrumentation and data analysis.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills.
