We’ve already assembled some of the world’s top scientists & engineers from worldwide renowned companies and due to the success and growth of our product development activities, Envisics is now looking to invest in the talent of an innovative Optical Systems Engineer with a desire of working in an inter-disciplinary environment to help develop technology for integration into our next generation AR-HUD product. Your job will be to drive the development of the optical systems of our AR-HUD technology through collaboration across the technical team as well as taking ownership of key system platforms. Your role will span across the product pipeline, from system requirements, concept development through to system verification and testing.
Drive the analysis and development of system requirements (customer and internal) and ensure these specifications are designed into the product, identifying performance/design trade-offs and development risks.
Working cross-functionally with engineers, researchers and management to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline (optics, hardware, software and systems)
Advance the image quality of Envisics AR-HUD technology through concept development, simulation and test and measurement
Test elements and subsystems of engineering samples systems to ensure performance is meeting specification and identify gaps and opportunities to improve performance.
Support development testing & evaluation. Analyse data and report and explain the results.
Support specification, DFMEA, FMA, & other quality systems.
Support root cause & trouble shooting investigation.
3+ years’ experience of development of optoelectronic components integration in embedded systems
Combination of education and experience in the research, development, and integration of optical systems or components including, but not limited to, optical and display systems.
Experience testing optical components in lab environment and normal office
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in one or more system optimisation and analysis tools, such as MATLAB, C++, or Java.
Team player with appreciation for diversity of traits, skills, and approaches.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced startup environment where novel ideas, designs, and methods are constantly being developed and tested.
Has good interpersonal skills and relates well to a variety of people at all levels.
Able to build appropriate rapport, actively listening and building constructive relationships.
Confident in participating in client and supplier meetings, with a diplomatic and methodical approach in resolving issues.
Practical ‘hands on’ experience.
Fluent in English.
