The Role: Lead Software Developer

Team: S&P Global Marketplace technology team consists of geographically diversified software engineers responsible to develop scalable solutions by working directly with product development team. The Impact : As a member of the marketplace Team, you will be responsible for analysis, design, architecture, development and support of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have expertise with cutting edge technologies and a desire to drive change through all alignment across the enterprise. The role requires the candidate to mentor and coach developers on Agile teams and also be a hands-on problem solver and developer helping to extend and manage the platforms. You will be an expert contributor and part of the S&P Market Intelligence DMS & Marketplace team.

Responsibilities: - Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility with release goals. This includes understanding requirements, technical specifications, design, architecture, implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, and code management.
- Ensure compliance through the adoption of enterprise standards and promotion of best practice / guiding principles aligned with organization standards.
- Build and maintain the environment for speed, accuracy, consistency and 'up' time
- Hands-on position requiring strong analytical, architecture, development and debugging skills that includes both development and operations.
- Design and develop efficient and scalable enterprise systems.
- Attaint in-depth Functional knowledge of the application(s) supported and dependencies.
- Understand Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management, root cause analysis.
- Ensure data governance principles adopted, data quality checks and data lineage implemented in each hop of the data
- Be in tune with emerging trends cloud technologies, microservice & Big Data.
- Should drive and execute complex technical requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborate with team members across the globe.
- Interface with users, business analysts, quality assurance testers and other teams as needed.
- Be a self-starter that is also an excellent team player.
- Follow agile best practices. Experienced in working with global teams.
- Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
- Work closely with cyber security team to monitor the organization's cloud policy.

What We're Looking For: - A minimum of 8+ years of significant experience in application development.
- Develop design and architecture exposure and ability to ensure quality across various technology components that are developed by geographically diversified software engineer
- Superior knowledge of system architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development.
- Experience in Java full stack development with exposure to Microservices, AWS & Big Data technologies.
- Experience working with high volume data and computationally intensive system.
- Garbage collection friendly programming experience - tuning java garbage collection & performance is a must.
- Proficiency in the development environment, including IDE, web & application server, GIT, Continuous Integration, unit-testing tool and defect management tools
- Domain knowledge in Financial Industry and Capital Markets is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
- Mentor teams, innovate and experiment, give face to business ideas and present to key stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of Agile approaches to software development and able to put key Agile principles into practice to deliver solutions incrementally.
- Experience working with cross functional teams.
Basic Qualifications: - Build data pipelines
- Utilize platforms like snowflake, talend, databricks etc.
- Utilize cloud managed services like AWS Step functions, AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB
- Develop custom solutions using Apache nifi, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Hive, and/or Spring Cloud Data Flow
- Develop federated data services to provide scalable and performant data APIs, REST, GraphSQL, OData
- Write infrastructure as code to develop sandbox environments
- Provide analytical capabilities using BI tools like tableau, power BI etc.
- Feed data at scale to clients that are geographically distributed
Preferred Qualifications: API development, micro-services pattern, cloud technologies and managed services preferably AWS, Big Data and Analytics, Relational databases preferably Postgresql, NoSql databases, nifi, Airflow, Spark, Hive, Spring Cloud, Spring Cloud Data Flow, Netty, Akka, Esper, Redis, Google protobuf, Google Guice, Google Guava, Spring Cloud.
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100000 to $160,000 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
