The primary purpose of the position is to develop modeling, simulation, and experimental data for wide bandgap semiconductors such as GaN devices for radio frequency (RF) applications. Application of computational methods such as Genetic Algorithms or AI techniques for extraction of active device modeling parameters are also of interest. The devices that will be developed then will be used as part of applications including amplifiers, sensors or as a standalone device in extreme environmental conditions.
This role is renewable annually for up to five years subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of resources, and the needs of the Institute. In particular, we are looking for applicants with a demonstrated record of accomplishment modeling, simulation and testing of RF and Microwave devices and systems for high frequency applications. Demonstrated proficiency in computational methods, programming efficiency (Python, C++, Matlab) and practical experience in RF/Microwave Engineering active and passive systems are desired.
The candidate will work with both graduate and undergraduate students in a mentoring role, and will be involved in developing research proposals, conducting workshops, seminars, publishing scholarly articles, and required to work on research assignments as needed. The candidate will enjoy a dynamic and collaborative working environment on our cutting-edge Applied Electromagnetics and RF Circuits (AE&RFC) research team.If interested, please apply electronically and provide curriculum vitae, copies of your top three publications, a summary of your PhD dissertation, names and contact information of three references. Any, other information that might be relevant to your application is also welcome. Please forward all required information to AE&RFC Research Laboratory Director and the ECE Department Chair Dr. Abdullah Eroglu (aeroglu@ncat.edu).
