Foreign Exchange Technology
Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) is a vital part of the Deutsche Bank Investment division that provides our clients with many ways to manage their currency risk. GFX is an industry recognized market leader in many products (like Options, Swaps) and top-3 in all FX products across the world. GFX heavily relies on its technology and data to stay ahead of the competition.

Our Identity and Access service is called ABACUS, as it is built in the Attribute-Based access control paradigm. ABACUS provides GFX with the single point of access control for applications and data for both the clients and the employees. We use Java, Kotlin, gRPC, REST, Kafka to provide our applications with low-latency reliable and transparent access control service.

We're looking for a developer who will help us scale ABACUS to handle an order of magnitude more requests than now and spread to more applications across the organization. With dozens of different application teams using the service, high complexity of the access rules and strict SLAs that's a challenging and fulfilling venture.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the ABACUS I&A service according to the strict 24/7 SLA
• Investigate and fix production incidents, be a part of the third line of support
• Assist the application teams in onboarding
• Communicate with and educate Support and SRE teams
• Contribute to the ABACUS architecture evolution

Your skills and experiences:

• Strong knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin, willingness to use both languages; Linux awareness
• Understanding of concurrency and multithreading
• Understanding of the distributed systems compromises
• Good knowledge of algorithms, complexity and data structures
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
