Detailed Job Description This position is Part-Time 4-5 hrs per week. Please note-this position requires availability for programs on nights and weekends. This is a grant-supported position with funding through NIH. The individual will be assigned to Strong Foundations: Intervening to Promote Co-Parenting and Reduce Father Hazardous Drinking in Expectant Parents' under the supervision of Stephanie Godleski, Ph.D., LP and Rina Eiden, Ph.D. and will be an employee of Rochester Institute of Technology. This is a multi-method, randomized efficacy trial to promote adjustment, co-parenting, and dyadic functioning among expecting couples with heavy drinking fathers and mothers who are light drinking/abstaining during pregnancy. Interventionists will be responsible for the administering group and individual sessions and phone call follow ups with participants. Responsibilities of the interventionist include:
Administer all group and individual sessions and phone call follow ups with participants, including facilitating the client's engagement in the treatment process.
Maintain documentation of clinical contact
Participate in staff meeting, clinical supervision, and designated trainings.
Assist in the recruitment of participants
Actively attempt to re-engage clients who have missed appointments
Other project related tasks as they arise
Department/College Description
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
6 months clinical experience with families or experience working providing group and individual counseling services to adults
Experience working in a team setting that may include health care providers, educators, and researchers.
Skills:
Strong sensitivity to diverse populations.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and strong written and verbal communication skills are integral to the position.
Reliable transportation and availability to work evenings and weekends required.
Must have the ability to:
Attend to detailed directions and events
Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and peers
Organize and manage assets, property, data, and schedules
Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient/participant privacy
Be comfortable working in a clinical setting
Establish and maintain a therapeutic helping relationship characterized by warmth, respect, genuineness, and empathy
Be comfortable leading group and individual sessions
