We are seeking a Sales Director to serve as the first point of contact for new and existing OEM customers for our laser systems and related products. You will identify and qualify inbound sales leads with the goal of converting leads to sales. The successful Sales Director will develop an in-depth knowledge of AdValue Photonics’ laser products and applications in order to serve as a trusted consultant in the customer evaluation. The ideal candidate will be highly driven, exquisitely organized, and collaborative by nature.
Your daily job duties include prospecting for new customers to build the sales pipeline, qualifying opportunities to focus your efforts on the right accounts, and advancing customers through their unique journeys to completing purchase of our products. You must be an excellent problem solver, analytical thinker, and versatile entrepreneur. You will work together with the senior management team on high level sales goals, and you must distill these into daily actions with quantifiable outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Generate sales leads, consult with prospective customers, close purchase agreements, and ensure fulfillment of customer orders
Follow-up and qualify technical sales leads using databases, customer history, email contacts, social media and verbal phone calls
Manage and support developing accounts with the goal of expanding our OEM customer base
Handle inbound sales and technical calls, qualify opportunities and diligently report data in our CRM system
Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s portfolio of laser, subassembly, and component product lines in order to define and guide the customer requirements and answer technical questions
Identify key buying criteria to determine product needs, budgets, and deliverables
Generate marketing collateral and present it to customers along with written quotations and proposals
Gain specific knowledge of all aspects of the customer's business to facilitate the sales process
Work closely with the technical support team to resolve any technical issues that arise
Develop and report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually on sales plan for assigned territory/accounts
Frequently travel to customer sites and trade shows (must have valid passport and drivers license)
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Previous experience interacting with customers in a sales capacity and/or closing sales
Bachelor’s or advanced degree required in a related science or engineering discipline, or equivalent technical sales experience
Superior verbal and written communication skills, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 or similar administrative and presentation software
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to penetrate markets and secure and retain new business
Experience prospecting and advancing OEM channels for industrial equipment
Proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with customers and channel partners
Technical sales experience in commercial lasers and/or optical components
