Position Summary:

• A problem solver, with good communication skills.
• Able to collaborate effectively with a talented team.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment with open-source software such as R or Python and various data warehousing technologies using relational and non-relational databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Theoretical knowledge of electrical engineering with courses in electronics, mathematics, and physics to be able to develop algorithms and mathematical models.
• A demonstrated proficiency in research and development and strong experience in Linux software is required.
• Strong programming skills using high level programming languages are required. Preferred programming languages include Python, R or PHP.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, SQL, shell-scripting, and familiarity in Linux systems administration is required.
• The education and experience requirements described in this standard may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on programming and software engineering, or in a scientific or engineering discipline with extensive research experience and software engineering is required, a Ph.D. is also preferred.
• Experience with a high-level programming language (such as C, C++, Fortran, Pascal)
• Experience with computer simulation and modeling, mathematical analytical techniques, machine learning and deep learning is preferred.
• Experience with parallel programming techniques (message passing, multithreading, etc.) is desirable.
• Experience of software development practices such as continuous integration and revision control is desirable.
