Detailed Job Description This position may be fully remote for individuals located outside of the Rochester area. It is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. Software Design at Productivity Laboratory at RIT is engaging in research and development activities with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to support the president's Biden Executive Order in Cybersecurity. In particular, we focus on strengthening the software supply chain. As a part of growing funded research, the Software Design and Productivity Laboratory at Global Cybersecurity Institute needs additional Junior Software Developers and Technical Staff to develop emerging R&D software products. Developers should have a firm grasp of DevOps and the software development life cycle in addition to remaining flexible in learning new Software Technologies. Candidates should be proficient in developing code in isolation but are expected to be able to detail their progress and development issues in a team environment. Teams will consist of 10 engineers with a dedicated Project Manager and Senior Developer. As a part of a team, candidates must be capable of cooperating with other team members constructively.
Responsibilities:
Writing and maintaining code
Developing and disseminating product demos
Supporting software development and testing activities
Analyzing technical requirements of the project and adapting the code in line with them.
Developing quality assurance procedures for software projects.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
6 Months to 1 year of experience in working on industrial-scale systems and software production environments.
