Position Details:
Summary of Duties: The primary responsibility of the position is to provide support and education to enhance students' learning experience at Washington State University (WSU). Specifically, carry an academic advising load reflecting a diverse student population; participate in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) student activities as appropriate; participate in academic reinstatement activities; participate in program development for academic advising in the EECS, and provide information and clarification regarding WSU academic policies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' experience working with students in an educational setting or related experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.
Must possess strong organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
Knowledge of WSU Catalog rules, regulations, and processes
Familiarity with Financial Aid rules, regulations, and processes
Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, advisors, and administrators.
Experience with large and small group presentations.
Knowledge of and experience with academic advising and related issues.
Knowledge of university computing systems such as the myWSU Advising Module, Student Success Collaborative, and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE).

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
