Detailed Job Description The Senior P2 Engineer will serve as project manager managing multiple, concurrent projects, as well as mentoring junior staff or students on the project team. The Senior P2 Engineer will develop project proposals, final technical reports, trade articles, and case studies. He/she will also present project results to clients at all levels of the organization as well as develop and present P2 training and best practices workshops to stakeholders. The Senior P2 Engineer will also be responsible for assisting the team in searching for, applying and writing federal & state grant proposals. Therefore, excellent communication, writing and presentation skills are a requirement for this position. The Senior P2 Engineer will perform other tasks in support of the Institute as requested by the Director, which may include development of P2 assessment tools, research and the development and implementation of P2 priority setting and performance tracking programs to maximize program effectiveness.
The major responsibilities of this position are:
Screen companies, develop proposals, and client relations
Provide technical assistance and project management research
Writing case studies, articles, and other materials
Other tasks as needed (i.e.-Proposal development)
Department/College Description The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute is part of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, an applied research organization at RIT whose mission is to undertake world-class education and research programs in sustainability with major foci on sustainable production, sustainable energy, sustainable mobility and ecologically friendly information technology systems. NYSP2I is staffed by a passionate team of scientists, engineers, and administrative personnel who collaborate with companies in New York State to provide technical assistance and solutions to complex sustainability problems. Minimum Qualifications Education: An advanced degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.

Required experience:
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience, with experience in process manufacturing improvement/efficiency, green chemistry/alternative materials, and/or the environmental/pollution prevention (P2) field preferred.
Project management experience including budget and time management
Strong presentation skills
Ideal candidate will be self-directed, with very strong oral and written communication skills.
