The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Northwestern University invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering to start on September 1, 2023.
Minimum Qualifications and Other Credentials
Applicants must have completed, or will have completed by the start date, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, and have demonstrated excellence in research within the broad area of computer engineering. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
embedded systems, IoT, wearable computing, and edge computing
high-performance computing
hardware systems for ML/AI
domain specific acceleration
security and privacy for hardware systems
A candidate with substantial accomplishments in post-graduate research will be considered for appointment as a tenure-track Associate Professor without tenure. Under exceptional circumstances, a candidate may be considered for appointment as an Associate Professor with tenure; in that case, additional supporting material commensurate with the tenure process at Northwestern University may be required and will be sought separately after initial review of the application and interview with the candidate.

Statement of Duties
The candidate is typically expected to teach one course per academic quarter, and carry out robust research activities. In addition, the candidate is expected to serve on various departmental committees as a member of the faculty.
