Description:
The successful candidate will conduct research on modeling and control and perception of autonomous vehicles particularly unmanned aerial vehicles under faulty and normal conditions for safe integration into the national airspace. The candidate will also support funded projects through original research, collaboration with other team members, development and internal evaluation of reports, facilitating the research meetings within the team, mentoring of students, and technically and financially overseeing projects' milestones. The candidate will also contribute to proposal development efforts, thereby strengthening North Carolina A&T State University's ability to attract external funding. The candidate will publish research results, in collaboration with his supervisor, in recognized journals. The candidate will share student mentoring with his supervisor and will participate in departmental seminars and other professional activities as assigned. The candidate will be also working with both graduate and undergraduate students in a mentoring role, and will be involved in conducting workshops, and seminars. The candidate will enjoy a dynamic and collaborative working environment.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the largest departments in the College of Engineering with more than 440 students in its four degree programs. The four programs are a BS in electrical engineering, a BS in computer engineering, an MS in electrical engineering, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Requirements:
1-Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related areas (computer science, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or mechatronics), specializing in Control, Robotics, and Formal Methods. 2-A strong theoretical and experimental background with evidence of skills related to reliable control systems and their applications to robotic systems. 3- good skills in writing scientific papers and technical reports, 4-experience with modeling and control of robotic systems and autonomous vehicles.
Preferred:
1-good programming skills such as Python, C++, and ROS.
