The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Kentucky University is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity in engineering education. We are seeking to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Electrical Engineering Program starting January 2023 or August 15, 2023. Areas of priority and specialization include microprocessors and electromagnetics. Candidates from other areas will be considered including communications, computer engineering, embedded systems, signal processing, software engineering, and wireless sensors.
The new faculty member must have the ability to guide students in projects using the current technology in these areas. A Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field is required.
The ABET accredited, baccalaureate-only electrical engineering program is an integrated project-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on the implementation of design experiences. The program is committed to producing graduates who are well prepared for the start of productive, successful careers as engineers.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive scholarly program that engages students in applied research. Service activities at all levels of the university are expected, as well as academic and professional mentoring to students.

Our new faculty must be committed to helping undergraduates grow into engineers and be dedicated to working in the labs and design centers on projects with students on a consistent basis. EE faculty are required to obtain professional licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky before applying for tenure and promotion.
Our faculty take ownership of the program's curricula and create the kinds of design and analytical experiences necessary to prepare students for the start of their professional careers.
Job Requirements:
