Detailed Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Assistant Director to help us in supporting RIT's strategic goals of increasing the diversity of our faculty through recruitment marketing, relationship building, and events management.
As a new team member of the Office of Faculty Diversity and Recruitment you will:
- Lead diverse sourcing initiatives to support faculty search committees with their recruitment goals
- Utilize your research and communication skills to identify potential prospects and programs in building a pipeline of scholars and artists for future faculty roles
- Plan and execute an annual institution wide event - Future Faculty Career Exploration Program
- Work with the team to maintain and grow our Scholars Network database

Our next Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Faculty Diversity and Recruitment while ultimately reporting to the Assistant Provost and Assistant Vice President.
Department/College DescriptionThe Division of Diversity & Inclusion works collaboratively with academic and administrative units to provide a holistic range of services that enhance access and success for historically underrepresented students, faculty and staff, support education and scholarship, and ensure a welcoming, inclusive, vibrant and accessible environment for everyone.
The Office of Faculty Diversity and Recruitment works across the university to advance the recruitment of talented African American, Latino American, Native American (AALANA) and women scholars and artists to enrich our diverse faculty community.
Minimum QualificationsEducationBachelors Degree
Experience:- Demonstrated administrative support experience.
- Demonstrated success with event planning.
- Demonstrated success with project management.
- Demonstrated familiarity and success with producing data-rich reports.
- Evidence of, commitment to and experience recruiting underrepresented minorities and women.
Skills:- Project management experience.
- Business, and/or human resources experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create effective written communications for internal and external audiences.
- Customer service skills (interpersonal, problem solving, and process improvement).
- Budget and logistics operations knowledge and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret and implement organizational policies.
- Ability to work independently with multiple tasks and prioritize.
- Must exhibit excellent team work with ability to both lead and follow.
- Detail oriented, including attention to style, grammar, and sentence construction.
- Creative, innovative, and critical thinking approach to tasks.
