JOB TITLE: Power System Supervisor

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Deputy Utility Manager-Electric, supervises the scheduling and real-time dispatch of Department of Energy (DOE)/Los Alamos County Power Pool resources and personnel to meet the electrical power requirements and the reliability guidelines of the DOE/County Electric Resources Power Pool (LAPP). Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, or Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
•Five years of related experience in power operations with an electric utility.
•Two years supervisory experience across all years of job-related experience.
•Successful completion of the County’s Need to Know training within one year of employment.
•Must possess and maintain North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Certification within 24 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Business Management or related field.
•Experience in a small electric utility, power system reliability organization, or power supply agency functioning as a performance engineer, an energy analyst, power broker, power scheduler or chief power dispatcher.
