We are looking for software engineers to join a growing team building the next generation of software to improve surgery and patient outcomes. At SIMPL you will be the primary engineer for our Android applications, focusing on their development, deployment and integration with back-end services. You will work alongside a team of engineers, product designers, and support staff to ship real product features to thousands of users globally. We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic individuals who can work autonomously with a high degree of quality and craftsmanship.
- Design and build mobile applications for Google’s Android platform as well as the backend services to support their operation.
- Contribute to the design and development of the mobile back end infrastructure to support application operation.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers and marketing to define app features.
- Write and test code to ensure compatibility, quality and stability.
- Publish Android application(s) to the Google Play Store, managing the deployment and release process.
- Maintain high code quality over time to ensure the application is maintainable in the long term.
- Contribute to team processes such as code reviews, quality assurance, sprint reviews, stand-ups and release management.
Senior Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of systems analysis/programming in a business environment
- Experience as an app developer on the Android platform (1+ years).
- Experience with Android frameworks and APIs (1+ years).
- Experience with the Java or Kotlin programming language (1+ years).
- Knowledge of Android’s design principles and application interface guidelines.
- Proficient in code versioning tools (git, github, etc).
- Familiarity with Android Studio and the Android development ecosystem.
- Organizational and self-management skills. Familiarity with project management and team collaboration software.
Lead Level
- Same as Sr level but with 2 yrs experience in each platform or programming
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with AWS services and serverless architecture.
- Familiarity with relational and document store databases.
- An awareness of current issues affecting the industry and its technologies.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
