Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Lead Industrialization Engineer to join our team! This role will be based in Moon Township, PA. Relocation assistance is offered as well as a hybrid work schedule.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative problem-solver with a strong electronic product manufacturing and engineering background to lead industrialization activities for our Meters, Relays and Digital Solutions, product lines. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic global team to develop, launch, and improve industry-changing electronic products and solutions. You will lead the process development activities for new product introduction projects and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch.
The Lead Industrialization Engineer role will lead manufacturing and industrialization activities for new product introduction (NPI) projects through all stages of development into release for production. This position will lead the development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes, as well as the associated documentation, to ensure the successful launch of new and/or improved products and processes. Industrialization Engineer also be responsible for coordinating with contract manufacturers and test equipment builders. The Lead Industrialization Engineer will collaborate with other functions and suppliers to facilitate efficient industrialization and to drive schedule performance while meeting safety, quality, and cost expectations.

Essential Functions:
Industrialize the system electronics development of Energy and Power Quality Metering along with Power Distribution Communication Products
Work with global development and product management teams; does require calls & conferences before 8am ET
Ability to contribute technically while managing the tasks and providing direction for a cross-functional team
Design and develop specifications and essential performance for the system
Work with electronic suppliers and development partners in the management of outside design & manufacturing activities.
Handle multiple projects and priorities, with the ability to switch focus as priorities change.
Work with marketing, project manager and other team members to provide feedback and estimates on specifications for product or process systems from customer requirements.
Coordinate activities with other functional areas, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
Work with team, suppliers and others to establish project schedules and budgets. Establish and review plans for multiple activities/projects; monitor and take corrective action as schedule impacts occur.
Design and develop specifications and essential performance for the products
Ability to manage design controls, develop and define requirements, & testing protocols
Coordinate the development and procurement of prototype and production tooling, fixtures, & equipment.
Collaborate with the design team to ensure Design for Manufacturability.
Lead prototype builds through developing pilot production lines and associated processes.
Create and implement process controls, work instructions, and standard work, and provide relevant training to plant personnel.
Drive production readiness at the plant across all functions, including production validation and issue resolution.
Collect and analyze early product and process performance data, using applicable Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing approaches.
Manage product cost and capital expense forecasts for NPI projects
General awareness of Power Distribution System or Industrial control systems
General awareness of electrical engineering disciplines such as analog and digital circuit design, microprocessors, firmware development, and digital signal processing.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Five (5)+ years of Engineering experience or manufacturing of electronics products
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of electronic product development, testing circuits
Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management software such as Enovia
Experience in designing products to meet UL safety requirements and working with UL for certification
Experience with industrializing products with international-based contract manufacturer
Experience in new product development and industrialization.
Experience with production tooling and assembly/test fixture development.
Working knowledge of basic quality tools, such as, capability studies and gage R&Rs.
Knowledge of DFFS and DFM.
Experience with shop floor control processes and technology (barcoding, product/process traceability).
Degrees or specialties in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering
