EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Principal IC Digital Design and Verification Engineer will report to the Director of IC Design and work closely with the Systems Engineering and Analog/Mixed Signal Engineering Teams, with the primary goal of creating high-performance, innovative SOC ASICs for Rockley Photonics' products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of SOC ASICs with embedded processor and memory;
- Develop chip level micro architecture and block specifications;
- Develop system and chip level simulation verification techniques and methodology;
- Develop verification test benches and verification methodology;
- Research, select, integrate, and verify IP blocks;
- Perform RTL level design and verification of digital sub-system;
- Perform or direct physical implementation of digital design;
- Perform LINT verification, timing closure, and power integrity analysis;
- Work with IC design team members to ensure proper implementation;
- Interface and manage design partner companies for IP and contract services;
- Write scripts to automate EDA tools, e.g. simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, equivalence checking;

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND EXPECTATIONS
- BS in Engineering, MS or Ph.D.;
- 10+ years of experience in development of ASIC verification;
- Experience with SOC ASIC verification. (microprocessor, memories, digital logic and mixed signal circuits;
- Experience with digital verification using UVM and contrainted-random verification techniques;
- Proficiency in unit-delay and back-annotated gate-level simulation;
- Strong understanding of ASIC design flows, digital logic, and digital architectures/systems. Experience with mixed signal circuit verification is a plus;
- Experience with evaluating, selecting, and integrating verification IP & tools;
- Strong knowledge of SystemVerilog assertion methodology and functional coverage;
- Python or equilvalent scripting skills;
- Strong multi-tasking and teamwork skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Successful competencies include integrity, intelligence, persistence, organization, efficiency, pro-active, attention to details;
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment such as computers. Position requires travel within the U.S. and International. Work hours may consistently exceed 40 hours a week. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements.
