Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for an IT Network Support Specialist. The IT Network Specialist should be an experienced Network Specialist with prior work experience in a Higher Education environment who works on the design, maintenance, and management of the University's global enterprise network systems. The position involves receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving network and technical support requests from clients in a timely manner. The job also involves talking to clients on the telephone, communicating via email and chat, and servicing clients' onsite and in-person, while working in a busy (sometimes high pressure) support environment. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to enjoy working with people and have excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. AA/EOE
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNET are highly desired
Minimum of five to eight years professional network technical support and network engineering experience.
Excellent attitude, phone etiquette, written and verbal communication and people skills
Ability to properly prioritize, see to completion, multiple projects and commitments while accurately tracking time management
Willing to work outside normal office hours when required

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science information technology, computer science or a closely related field.
Higher Ed or Public sector cyber security and network ops/engineering experience
At Least two years of system administration, which includes development of network and security architectures for enterprise grade environment
