As a Barclays Equity Derivatives Senior Developer, you will be a member of the global team responsible for building and enhancing the next generation of Barclays' equity derivatives trade capture and lifecycle management platform. You will be responsible for the development and timely delivery of new and/or existing software working with project managers, software engineers both internal and external to Atlas Trade team.

What will you be doing?

??? You will be creating a detailed technical design and solution for problems in the equity derivatives trade booking and STP domain and implementing the solution
??? Working with teams globally to understand and contribute to the system architecture and ensure that the development is in line with the strategy and the overall roadmap
??? Implementing standards & best practices for software development and ensure compliance to the process including but not limited to unit testing and continuous integration.
??? Using investment banking and finance domain knowledge to validate the accuracy of the technical solution and adherence to requirements
??? Contributing to the continuous improvement of the processes and the system
??? You will manage small to medium scale technical deliveries from inception through to delivery

What we're looking for:

??? Core Java skills including but not limited to Generics, Collections, Multithreading, I/O, Streams and JDBC are required and the candidate
??? 5+ years' experience in reading, writing and debugging multithreaded java code.
??? Very strong problem solving skills - should be able to understand a complex problem and translate the solution into a program using OOPS fundamentals
??? Proficiency in technologies supporting java development and deployment - Spring, maven, xml

Skills that will help you in the role:

??? Knowledge of Equity Derivatives Products and Trade Capture/Lifecycle management.
??? Knowledge of Oracle Coherence and related relevant experience
??? Knowledge of messaging platforms such as MQ and Solace and related design patterns for producing and consuming messages.
??? Knowledge of containers - preferably Docker
