Position's roles & Interactions:
Position collaborates with other EBS team's business analysts, JH IT groups and both university and health systems business users in developing new solutions, enhancements, maintenance, and break/fix support activities. Works with minimal supervision and direction.
Specific systems, applications, projects for which the position is responsible:
SAP ECC - integrated software solution that incorporates the organization's key business functions of Human Resources, Materials Management, and Finance and accounting. Systems interface to over 450 other internal and external systems including student services, banks, benefit providers, clinical applications, and e-commerce hubs to support the daily functions of the organizations.
SRM – Supplier Relationship Management handles the item selection, procurement approvals and integrates with ECC system for warehouse and inventory management processing.
SAP PO – Process Orchestration system handles data integration tasks between internal and external systems.
Many other third-party add-on applications like CA - Autosys is used to manage complex batch job process scheduling. BSI Tax accounting software, Dolphin Corp (Archiving), EPIUSE System, client and object sync copies.

Works in a highly complex 70+ server environment supporting Johns Hopkins Enterprise Employee Resource Planning (ERP) solutions.
SAP software is an integrated development solution that incorporates JH's key business functions of Human Resources (Payroll, Benefits), Materials Management (Purchasing, Warehouse and Inventory Management), Grants/Funds Management, Finance and Accounting. The SAP system supports over 60,000 users with the HCM module through payroll and benefits. SAP interfaces to over 450+ other internal and external systems including student services, banks, benefit providers, clinical applications, and e-commerce hubs to support the daily functions of the university and health system organizations. The SAP solution is comprised of following systems: ECC – Enterprise Central Component, SRM – Supplier Relationship Management, Gateway, BW – Business Warehouse, Portal – Web based user interface and content management, MDM – Master Data Management, SM - Solution Manager, PO – Process Orchestration, and GRC – Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance.
The system is comprised of a three-tier architecture (Dev, QA, PRD) with corresponding peer systems at each tier (BW, SRM, GRC, MDM & PO). The systems us a central instance and multiple (70+) application servers for the respective production system tiers.
The systems and job complexities are driven by the fact the university and health systems operate as separate business entities with different policies, processes, and authorizations. SAP is used by all schools and areas of the university and health system.
Work location:
On call requirements:
- Responsible for 24x7 on-call support as part of a standard rotation with other team members in a primary support.
- On-call as needed in secondary support capacity.
Required & preferred skills specific to position:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Seven years of related work experience with computer systems and applications.

Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits = 1 year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college coursework may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
