This role is responsible for managing the lifecycle and commercial aspects related to the industry offering. In collaboration with the Industry strategy & marketing, Portfolio marketing, and product management, this leader will architect industry-specific solution offerings and release roadmaps (ie. Discrete, Process or Hybrid); and has the breadth and depth of skills and experience to be a technologist, strategist and offering leader.
This role provides a wider view of the industry-specific solution offerings and works to positively complement product management to define the product portfolio to support growth in target industry/segment, the go-to-market strategy, offering positioning, key benefits and target customers.
What you will do
Responsible for managing the offering lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities: this role develops and executes a disciplined process and methodology to prioritize the development and go to market plans for Industry solutions.
Responsible for turning a well-researched set of market requirements for current and future solution offerings supported by ongoing visits to customers and prospects.
Identifies, architects, develops, and evangelizes industry solution offerings and capability roadmaps in collaboration with the industry marketing, portfolio marketing, product management, advanced technology, and engineering teams.
Packages and communicates the technical aspects, risks, challenges and selling points of the proposed solution and analyzes potential partner relationships for the offering.
Monitors trends and evolving expectations within target markets and their impact on Rockwell Automation strategy and priorities for the offering.
Represents Rockwell Automation with industry consortia and standards organizations
Understands the technology platforms in question, both from an internal-RA perspective and an industry-wide perspective.
Research competitors and similar offerings
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
Experience in Industrial automation and information products, services and solutions preferred.
Industry-led and customer-centered strategic solution mindset
Experience in developing Strategy and Execution plans, business plans, revenue models, Voice of Customer (VoC)
Experience in Information technology, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering
Experience developing cloud-based ecosystems to deliver value to end-customer
Experience in one or more of the following industries: Mining, Metals, Chemicals and O&G. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing capabilities, efficient in the use of software tools, and an ability to work with a geographically dispersed team to achieve results
Ability to work cross functionally across the organization and provide structure and clarity to ambiguity
High collaboration/networking/connectors to problem resolve
Experience in agile development practices and processes
