Established in 1998, Brian M. Brown, MD, is a state-of-the-art vision clinic that offers advanced ophthalmology services, optometric care, and a total eye care experience to residents in Downey and the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Combining cutting-edge technologies and a caring team of professionals, the practice specializes in treating and preventing ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and offers specialty contact lenses. In addition to routine eye care, it also specializes in surgical and vision correction procedures, including LASIK, PRK, Refractive Lens Exchange, ICL, cataract surgery, and additional medical procedures. To maintain a competitive edge in the eye care industry, the business is looking for an Optometrist to join the dynamic team of nine professionals.
This well-respected clinic is at the forefront of the industry's most advanced vision care technology. Fully equipped with diagnostic technology, the practice utilizes OCT, OPD, fundus camera, visual field, and other sophisticated technology. The on-site optical department carries over 500 frame styles to conveniently serve patients with a variety of styles for fashion preferences and medical needs--plus, the professionals offer a wide range of aesthetic treatments.
About the Optometrist Position
Brian M. Brown, MD, is seeking a highly-skilled Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care and deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions. You'll work 25-30 hours a week and provide various optometric services, including refractive exams, perform contact lens fittings, manage ocular diseases, co-management medical/surgical patients with the Medical Director, and recommend patient follow-ups and treatment plans. You'll also oversee the optical department operations and provide mentorship to senior technicians and back-office technicians to increase proficiencies and skills development. Support from a dedicated team of optical technicians will allow you to focus on providing the highest level of personalized care to help patients achieve optimal vision--you'll care for 15 to 20 patients daily.
The practice is looking for a perfectionist who notices all the details, has an analytical mindset, and quickly finds solutions to problems. Excellent patient communication skills and the ability to work with pediatric and geriatric patients are essential for this role. You'll care for patients individually and in conjunction with the Ophthalmologist and endorse the ophthalmologic skills and techniques utilized to deliver high-quality care--helping grow the cataract and refractive surgery elements of the practice are also essential for this role. Minimum qualifications include:
- Optometry license in the state of California
- At least one to two years of professional experience
- Pediatric and geriatric eye care
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience fitting CRT lenses and scleral lenses
- Fluency in Spanish
