Detailed Job DescriptionThe Graduate Recruitment and Marketing Manager provides leadership for GIS in the development of recruitment strategies that will increase the number of enrolled graduate students. In cooperation with RIT Graduate Enrollment, this position leads all facets of GIS-level prospective student recruiting, marketing strategies, initiatives, programs and events. This position will build relationships with feeder colleges, companies, non-profit organizations, to recruit prospective graduate students and make strategic decisions with regard to key marketing messages and including the supervision of an annual marketing plan to engage prospective students and applicants.
- Identifies key target markets for recruiting and marketing to prospective students including college campuses, industry forums, professional associations, and organizations throughout the US and internationally
- Coordinates viable and effective recruiting activities that engage prospective students, generate new prospect leads, and meet the recruitment and enrollment goals
- Generates strategic marketing messaging strategy which informs all external content to engage prospective students and applicants
- Makes decisions regarding marketing collateral including ads, brochures, specialty pieces, marketing videos, web content, and related social media, and supervises a marketing coordinator to implement the marketing plan
- Works with Dean and two department heads to plan and manage virtual and in-person events for prospective GIS students
- Represents GIS at off-campus recruitment events, and other on- and off-campus special events as needed
- Builds relationships with feeder colleges, companies, non-profit organizations, to recruit prospective graduate students
Department/College DescriptionThe Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) is a leading sustainability research and education organization at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). GIS operates as an industrial-academic hybrid model -consisting of 3 traditional graduate-level academic degree programs in sustainability and six industry-facing applied research centers. Our faculty, researchers, and students work across many disciplines and collaborate with organizations locally, nationally and internationally to advance sustainability within pivotal sectors of our economy. Required Minimum QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
- Three (3) or more year's in a higher education recruitment customer engagement
- Demonstrated experience (knowledge and skill) with assessing the market reality and opportunity for academic programs and successfully positioning (or repositioning) them and mapping them to the marketplace
Specialized skills:
- A strong communicator with an external focus, making presentations to audiences
- Experience in working with digital tools to support the work of marketing, including social media tools and social media messaging
This position may require occassional travel.
