The Team / The Business : S&P Global Market Intelligence, a best-in-class sector-focused news and financial information provider, is looking for a Lead Software Developer to join our Software Development team in either our NYC office or our Princeton, NJ office.
Candidate will work on a self-managed team to maintain, update, and implement processes utilized by other teams. Coordinate with stakeholders to design innovative functionality in existing and future applications. Work across teams to enhance the flow of our data.
Job Description
As a data engineer on our team, you will play a key role in developing our next-generation data science infrastructure and underlying core technologies. You will work with our Equity Pricing data team, analysts, and engineers to create products that solve important real-world business problems in a collaborative, fast-paced, and fun environment.

Responsibilities
- Effectively communicating with customers to gather business and functional requirements and translate them into the technical requirements.
- T-SQL development tasks, including creating and maintaining stored procedures, views, and user defined functions.
- Implementation of automated ETL routines using SQL Server Integration Services.
- The construction and enhancement of OLAP databases in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
- Prioritizing requests from clients and internal stakeholders to meet their needs.
- Facilitating and support client calls and in-person/onsite meetings.
Basic Qualifications: 1-5 years
- Bachelors/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent and 3+ years.
- Strong SQL and OOP Development Experience
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile
- Test-driven development
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Exposure with Big Data platforms such as Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark, NiFi
- Experience with stream processing engines like Kafka, Spark, etc.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success while choosing the proper methodologies and policies to support broad business goals.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in the Financial services
- Experience with stream processing engines like Kafka, Spark, etc.
- Expertise in building even driven scalable & resilient systems
- Familiarity with relational database internals (especially PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS
- Working knowledge of probability & statistics
- Contributions to open-source software
- Experience building customer-centric products
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,300 - $155,900 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus/a sales commission plan.
