The Medical Robotics and Interactive Intelligent Technologies (MERIIT@NYU) Laboratory (https://wp.nyu.edu/meriit/) under direction of Prof. S. Farokh Atashzar at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Researcher to join an exciting NSF-funded project to conduct research on corticomuscular connectivity of post stroke patients during recovery. To be eligible, the applicants should have been in the US for three years out of the last five years. Experience with EEG and EMG processing, user studies, statistics, functional brain connectivity, signal processing, machine learning are needed. New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, has the distinct history of having been known previously as Brooklyn Poly and the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.
This project involves a collaboration with NYU School of Medicine and US FDA. Candidates will be responsible for collecting data (EMG and EEG), conducting user studies, signal processing, statistical analysis, paper writing and help with mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, grant writing, and performing work in MERIIT Lab a multidisciplinary environment, under the supervision of Prof. Atashzar. The successful candidate will be driven, creative and team-oriented with a passion for developing biomarkers of stroke recovery.
We are seeking individuals with a strong background in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, biosignal processing, and/or related field. We welcome applicants from recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Eligible candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
