Job Description:
Maintains and develops software and data infrastructure, including backend and frontend development of Qresp and its database storage.
Works with the MICCoM team of developers and software users to facilitate the use of Qresp.Â
Communicate with users for support, feedback, and strategic development.
Maintains other tools/services for MICCOM as needed.Â
Supports and maintains existing applications. Works with web developers and responds to requests from users.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves day-to-day technical problems using standard procedures.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience working in higher education or an academic research environment.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers and become a valued member of an autonomous, impactful, cross-functional team.
- Scientific background in material science is a plus.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Strong technical skills.
- Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement the visual design and user interactions for websites and web apps.
- Design, develop and deploy backend services with a focus on high quality and scalability.
- Take operational responsibility for the backend and frontend services.
- Experience with Python, ReactJs, MongoDB and preferably with containers.
- Experience in managing codes/projects in a team using version control (e.g., GitHub).
