The Scalable Computing Software (SCS) Laboratory at the Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure-track research faculty/engineering positions at the Research Assistant Professor, Postdoctoral Researcher, Senior Engineer, or Engineer ranks, in addition to graduate research assistant and pre-doctoral research positions, beginning immediately. These positions are intended to be a medium to long term opportunity as our projects are long-term and expected to continue. Applicants for research positions should have demonstrated research ability appropriate to their rank. Applicants for Software Engineer/Developer position should have demonstrated software development experience appropriate to their rank. Applicants should have interests in HPC, deep memory and storage hierarchies, data streaming technologies, performance optimization, and code instrumentation, from the software or hardware aspects.
We seek individuals who have a genuine interest in HPC system research and development. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with other team members and collaborating with scientists or application developers that use HPC systems. Some of the positions are in collaboration with University of Chicago, and a joint appointment may be possible. One research position is in HPC computer architecture/memory system, and two or more research/development positions are in HPC I/O systems. Research positions are required to demonstrate research ability on HPC system research. Engineer positions are required to have certain program skills.
