What you’ll be doing...
The Enterprise Architecture group is seeking a Principal Engineer Systems Architect to play a critical, client-facing role that interacts with multiple application teams with the goal of creating the next generation architecture in service of Verizon customers. You will facilitate collaboration sessions and ensure consistency and alignment across Enterprise from both a technical and process alignment perspective. You will be responsible for working on efforts linked to the Verizon Business group (VBG) initiatives. You will focus on engineering innovative, strategic, and long-term solutions that align with Verizon enterprise architecture standards. You will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to establish and maintain technical assets within the enterprise technology portfolio. You will work closely with technical and non-technical team members to understand the stakeholder requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. This role will operate with a high degree of autonomy. The position requires the candidate to work closely with our IT and Business partners to evaluate a wide range of architectural solutions and determine short and long term tradeoffs between architectural alternatives, adoption strategies and any technical debt.
Make decisions on the overall architecture of the system and implement and propose the solutions that will work best for Verizon and its Customers.
Responsible for technology selection, assessment, technical evaluation of architecture alternatives and recommending solutions that are simple, scalable and sustainable and above all secure.
Ensure the solution aligns with other Verizon units creating a transparent user experience.
Define architecture work for company Revenue initiatives on core wireless and also contribute towards future 5G , Business Internet and MEC In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies along with the team and leveraging these in the architectural solutions.
Design and develop a reference implementation for an enterprise scale architecture that can assist development teams across multiple organizations.
Responsible for overall Architecture, building reference architecture using the Enterprise architecture framework.
Work with vendors to evaluate new products.
Research and recommend the optimal solutions for vast variety of projects.
Think out of the box and research solutions that will work for Verizon customers and employees.
Drive solution development through requirements gathering/analysis/discovery, business plan creation, and solution level of effort estimation to ensure that client interests are met and potential business opportunities are established.
Drive to push for on time and on budget development activity and migration of applications.
Coach and mentor of development teams, conducting brown-bags and implementing Proof of Concepts.

You can present to executives, build camaraderie with business leaders, and inspire technologists to buy in. You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Computer science, or a related field.
Masters’ degree in Electrical engineering, Computer science, or a related field.
Eight or more years of IT experience, with at least five years of experience in Enterprise Technology architecture with deeper expertise in one or more of the domains that include Product, latest technologies, PEGA, Salesforce, Ericsson Catalog, API, Data, AIML and Cloud.
Six or more years of experience in Telecom Industry Enterprise Architecture.
Knowledge of Wireless B2B, VES, VPS, VBM organizations.
Knowledge on 5G/MEC technologies.
Experience with Product catalog function and architecture with Ericsson Catalog.
Experience in Salesforce, Vlocity, Ericsson Catalog, TMForum, JAVA, React, Amdocs Suite, PEGA etc.
Experience in defining and driving Cloud migration and strategy.
Experience with AI and Machine Learning.
Experience business intelligence technologies, Data analysis.
Experience in articulating the business drives and architectural approach/trade-offs during discussions for solution.
Experience creating system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
Experience facilitating group meetings/discussions.
