Summary of Position: | This is a 12-month, full-time, 3-year temporary position with potential eligibility for reappointment. This faculty position is located primarily on Ferris State University’s Grand Rapids campus and will involve on-campus and on-line instruction of course content, as assigned / scheduled. | |

Required Work Experience: | A minimum of 3 years of relative experience in design, development, and deployment of software. Experience designing and implementing projects in cutting-edge software areas including one or more of the following: • Web development frameworks, RESTful services, high throughput services, engineering for availability, microservices, Cloud development • Internet of Things and embedded systems • Mobile application development • Data science and analytics • Virtual reality and Augmented reality • Autonomous vehicles technology • Robotics, Artificial intelligence, and Machine learning

Minimum of 5 years of relative experience in design, development and deployment of software. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | 1. As part of the teaching assignment, this position will include student advising, participation with student recruitment and retention activities; participation in curriculum and course review and revision; maintaining relations with internal and external agencies and groups; Teaching at DMSE summer camps; serving on committees, and performing other duties as assigned. 2. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include continuing professional development; participation in curriculum development and university committees; orientation, recruitment, and registration of students; keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), Striving for organization and efficiency, and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance like attending and contributing to Engineering and Education seminars/conferences. 3. Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
