Rockwell Automation's Sensing, Safety and Industrial Components Business is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to be help establish and run a new software team in Pune, India. Team's focus is on next generation product development. The position requires the proven ability to work with product management, hardware engineering, and software developers to create project specifications and execute through the entire development cycle.

Work closely with Pune campus management to ensure smooth and efficient integration
Own local management activities (trainings/purchases/vacation/sick leaves/team building/promotions, etc.)
Ensuring high technical skill and of reports
Maintain a passionate team of individuals, including software developers, testers, DevOps, and technicians
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other technical field. Software-related field preferred
7+ years of experience in software design and development
3+ years of experience in ppl management
Capable of delivering high-quality C++ code (not expected to do actual coding on daily basis)
Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems
Hands-on experience in software development in Microsoft tool ecosystem
Experience in code collaboration tools and design reviews
Ability and wiliness to travel internationally 1-2 weeks per visit
10+ years of experience in software design and development
Experience in developing software communicating with external devices.
Experience developing products that are Functional Safety certified
Knowledge of safety standard IEC 61508
Open-Source project experience
Ability and/or willingness to work with emulators and hardware tools.
Understanding of RS-232, USB, Ethernet and packet-based communication protocols
Experience with typical embedded control peripherals such as A/D, D/A, timers & general purpose I/O
Experience with standard version control systems
Familiarity with Rockwell Automation controllers and software tools
