Job Summary: The Department of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Computer Science to begin January 2022.
Candidates hired for our Lecturer positions will be expected to teach undergraduate coursework in areas of need, which could include but are not limited to computing ethics, computer programming, data structures, algorithms, performance analysis, networks, computer architectures, information systems and software engineering, database, cyber security, operating systems, 3D graphics programming, computational informatics, senior project, and senior capstone.

MS in Computer Science or a closely related field;

Job Duties: % of Time: 100 Responsibility / Duty:Typical workload for this position will involve 45 credits per academic year, subject o department needs. Teaching includes the following additional related responsibilities as defined in the faculty CBA.
Plan, organize and inform students of the course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including grading scales;
Schedule and attend office hours;
Turn in grades according to established deadlines;
Additionally all faculty are expected to actively participate in assessment of student learning and to engage in effective teaching.

Conditions of Employment: This position may be required to teach on two campuses, Cheney and Spokane Catalyst Building. The two campuses are 20 minutes apart.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
We are open for in-person instruction for academic year 2021-22, should Washington State or university pandemic restrictions disallow for in-person instruction, then courses will be taught via online platforms, including Zoom and other technologies. Candidates must be able to demonstrate competence using these technologies.
All new employees must comply with EWU immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR and proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs. Salary Information: The expected salary upon hire for the academic year is $65,225. For January 1 through June 15th 2022 the expected salary will be $39,860.
