As a Hardware Engineer, you will use your electronics design experience to develop and enhance our existing and next generation industrial control products. These products include Programmable Logic Controllers, I/O Products, and Communication devices. You will play a key role in all phases of product development including requirements definition, complex circuit design for embedded systems, functional safety impact assessment, product verification and certification testing, and release to production. You will work on a product development team collaborating with Engineers across multiple disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, ASIC/FPGA development, embedded software), Scrum Masters, Product Management, Quality, and Operations to bring our product roadmaps to life.

Activities you will be involved in:
Collaborate with product development Engineers to develop and execute hardware verification test plans with traceability to product requirements, including these areas:
Functional Safety (IEC 61508)
Safety Agencies (UL, ATEX, IECEX)
Environmental and Shock/Vibration
Board level functional testing
Investigate and propose solutions to hardware design issues.
Design, build and maintain test systems used in HW qualification.
Create test cases to understand behavior, performance and limitations of electronic hardware and hardware systems.
Create test plans that incorporate all test cases and have traceability to product functional or certification requirements.
Support HW design team as needed for building and board bring up of electronic hardware prototypes.
Be involved of next wave of digitization for hardware V&V.
Develop tools and processes to automate hardware testing. Drive best practices across global hardware teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree

Experience in electronics development in the area of embedded hardware. Fundamental understanding of Digital and Analog/Mixed signal circuits, MCUs and FPGAs
Knowledge of industrial controls systems and their communications interfaces and protocols such as Ethernet/IP
Experience building, wiring, and configuring hardware test systems.
Programming skills in Python or C/C++ or LabVIEW or other test automation tools/software.
Proven experience implementing Test Automation into HW qualification process
Experience with Rockwell Automation Software programming tools and programming skills in Ladder Logic
Experience with electronic hardware design tools such as Mentor Graphics or Cadence
Experience with product requirements tool, or product testing tool such as JAMA, RTC, qTest, etc.
Experience with system level validation and certification of embedded hardware.
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements such as UL508, IEC 61010, IEC 61000-6-4, CISPR 11
Experience testing and validating Functional Safety Products (IEC 61508)
