What you’ll be doing...
Hum is the connected car system that makes driving safer and more convenient. Keep tabs on your car’s health and monitor its location in near real time. Get peace of mind with crash detection, roadside assistance, WIFI, low battery alerts and more. Hum helps you and your family stay safer and more connected on the road. Plus, you can stay on top of your car’s health and maintenance. The Hum platform is about delivering mission-critical, actionable information for our customers and continues to set the standard for location intelligence. This is a hybrid position and you will be expected to come into the office once a week.
As a principal engineer in the Hum team, you will own a large scale business intelligence platform, reporting and own all of the data pipelines from core systems.
Own the entire section of the business intelligence technical stack, corresponding data pipelines and take projects from an idea to production.
Architect and design the data warehouse platform team that handles all of the data.
Drive the technology roadmap for the BI platform.
Understand business needs and come up with scalable engineering solutions.
Write clean, fast code to implement new features.
Strive to elegant and maintainable code, and you're comfortable with picking up new technologies.
Serve as the primary poinle environments with vague requirements and rapid iterations.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Six or more years of software development experience.
AWS, Docker, Tableau, business intelligence, ETL and data pipeline experience.
Experience in at least in one of the major languages (Java, Scala, Python) and SQL (any type).
Experience in lean software development methodologies.
Even better if you have one or more of the folowing:
AWS Data Analytics Certification.
Knowledge of kanban.
Kinesis, Informatica and OBIEE experience.
