Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached CV): PhD or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science by September 2021. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience in power system engineering and data science.
Brief Description of Duties: The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The postdoc will work on projects in the field of data-driven power distribution system resilience and power system asset diagnosis. Analyze massive monitoring data sets of power systems and power assets; feature engineering for subsequent learning-based algorithm design. Design fault detection and identification algorithms for power system and asset monitoring and diagnosis. Work closely with stakeholders and partners in the power industries and the Navy with the goal of best enhancing the Navy's power system resilience at the end of the one year project.
Perform data analytics of power system and asset monitoring data
Perform data-driven and model-based algorithm design for fault identification in power distribution systems, and data-driven algorithm design for power asset diagnosis
Write up results to communicate with the professional community via publications and conference presentations
Mentor students involved with this project
Communicate design results to and interact with project partners
Other duties as assigned
