The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Detroit Mercy College of Engineering and Science invites applicants for multiple full-time non-tenure track China Program instructor positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering beginning in August 2021. Instructors will teach classes to support Department programs in China and may teach in the United States at Detroit Mercy. Overseas teaching assignments currently range from two to twelve weeks in length. The annual appointments are renewable based on performance reviews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructors are expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories and supervise projects in electrical and computer engineering with a focus in electrical engineering and robotics. The department offers international programs in Electrical Engineering and Robotics and Mechatronic Systems Engineering.
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

The successful candidate will be an effective and enthusiastic student-centered teacher, engaging in best practices for active learning and student success, with a demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse population of students.
An earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, strong communications skills, and commitment to excellence in teaching are required.
