The Fire Systems Technician, Senior is the subject matter expert for the electronic fire alarm system and provides technical expertise and support for periodic testing, corrective maintenance, minor modifications and upgrades of the Fire alarm systems. The work will be performed in all OHSU owned and designated leased buildings both on and off the Marquam Hill campus. This position is also responsible for the OHSU Fire Systems Technician apprenticeship program. This position reports to the Utilities Manager.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and three years
of experience with building controls systems performing modification, adaptations, construction
and design work of an intricate nature; OR
Equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience must include one year of programming experience.
Must have basic computer skills and a general familiarization with MS Office applications and internet browsers.
Valid Oregon or Washington drivers license with an acceptable driving history that meets OHSU standards.
Some positions may require a valid State of Oregon Restricted Energy Electricians License OR State of Oregon Electrical license.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Formal training in management and communications
4+ years leading team of technicians in installation and/or maintenance of CPU based fire alarm systems. -6+ years of programming CPU based fire systems networks.
4+ years technical support of installations of CPU based fire systems networks.
Strong familiarity with reporting software such as Crystal Reports, Tableau, or Pentaho.
Basic familiarity with AutoCAD
Basic familiarity with using Oracle eAM.
State of Oregon restricted energy electricians license
NICET certified to level II- Factory training certification for Simplex/Grinnell CPU based fire systems networks.
