Detailed Job Description Please note: Some weekend and evening hours may be required throughout the year.
The Assignment Assistant reports to the Senior Assignment Coordinator of RIT Housing and is responsible for providing support to the RIT Housing assignment team with various clerical functions and project based work. Responsibilities include:
Responsible for processing and coordinating room change requests. Requires collaboration with Residence Life, Housing Facilities and FMS.
Manage all processes, procedures and communication related to Summer Term housing assignments.
Assist with the under-occupied process by creating space lists and reviewing space closures & notes.
Manage the Double-as-Single Initiative to generate revenue while providing an enhanced customer experience.
RIT Service Center license holder to resolve tickets related to relevant work providing excellent customer service.
Identify and market available housing to generate revenue. Utilize website, email and social media strategies.
Coordinate continuous summer to fall move including all assignment work and communications.
Create detailed occupancy and assignment reports.
Organize and execute consolidation before room selection.
Main contact for Global scholar and visiting guest assignments.
Apply Mass Billing notes for specialty groups including but not limited to ADA, Doubles as Singles, Global Scholars.

Required Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
Two or more years experience working in a fast-paced collegiate environment, auxiliary setting or equivalent business
Proven excellent professional and customer service experience in an office or service environment
Previous experience with data entry and/or work with technology systems
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work well with people and to handle conflict situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience using technology and common software MS Office Suite
Good organization skills
Administrative, task management and time management skills
Ability to work under strict deadlines
Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Detail oriented with ability to effectively handle multiple and changing priorities
