What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s SDN (Software-Defined Networking) Planning team is looking for an SDN Data Modeling Architect with strong drive and thought leadership. As a senior-level member of technical staff, the candidate will be interacting with software engineers, operations staff, network/system architects, and vendor partners to drive the SDN data modeling strategies and solutions to maintain Verizon’s technological leadership in the rapidly evolving market place.
Vendor data model (e.g., YANG) and API (e.g., NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC/gNMI/gNOI) testing and evaluation.
Data model design and implementation strategic alignment with the vendors and the open-source and standard communities.
Directional information and data model development for Verizon network infrastructure.
Software Defined Networking (SDN) ecosystem development and technical vendor management.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in at least one of the following technologies and protocols: NETCONF, RESTCONF,YANG (MEF, OpenConfig and IETF models), OpenAPI, and gRPC/gNMI/gNOI.
Experience in model-driven network management and modern data modeling principles.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with modern data communication technology discipline.
Strong development skills (e.g., Java) and the build environment, networking domain knowledge, e.g., networking protocols, network architectures.
Industry technology leadership skills.
SDN knowledge and development experience.
Goodcommunication skills and ability to drive initiatives in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional environment.
Strong team spirit and can-do attitude.
Multi-vendor system integration and technical vendor management experience.
Working knowledge of CI/CD test automation tool, e.g., Robot, Jenkins, etc.
Experience with Open-Source tool development, e.g., nclient, pyang, OpenDayLight, ONAP, etc.
Experience with standard organization, e.g., OpenConfig, IETF, MEF, etc.
Experience with vRAN or oRAN
Knowledge of deploying virtualized application in Linux environments (e.g., KVM, docker container, Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMWare).
