Perform EM design superconducting dipole and quadrupole magnet system for fragment separator area and instrumentation beam line optics.
Design Quench protection scheme and analysis to ensure the safety of the magnet operation.
Participate in the mechanical design of the superconducting magnets
Develop technical specifications for superconducting magnet system and subcomponents for procurement and provide technical supervision of the procurement if needed which includes review vendor test results, non-conformance report and witness vendor factory tests.
Provide technical guidance and support for coil winding and superconducting magnet construction
Participate commissioning and mapping the magnet systems
Support superconducting magnet operation including training operation staff, develop operation procedures, trouble shooting and resolve technical issues.
Ensure system compliance with Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and QA requirements
Establish and manage engineering standards and procedures, support the design review process, the value engineering program
Participate developing next generation accelerator magnet technology

Masters -electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
Advanced degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related field) with demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating large scale low temperature superconducting magnets and support systems
3+ years of experience
Ability to work with export controlled technologies
Prior experience in superconducting magnets, accelerator system components, cryogenic system and distributed control system
Experience with FEA of EM analysis, 1-D or 2-D quench analysis codes and CAD
