The primary purpose of this position is to develop, implement, configure and maintain Mosaic supported computing hardware and software solutions required to support academic and research activities essential to the mission of the William States Lee College of Engineering. This includes development of specialized embedded / high performance computing solutions to support hardware/software-in-the-loop testing in the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) labs, as well as support for College of Engineering shared computing resources. Additionally, as an enterprise OneIT resource, this position collaborates with campus Linux support staff on the development of university Linux-based services and support platforms. The position has 3 primary responsibilities: (1) support for custom computing needs in the EPIC laboratories, specifically related to embedded control and power-related simulation; (2) Linux system support for the College of Engineering's Linux-based computing platforms; and (3) general user support for College of Engineering's computing infrastructure.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and Computing or closely related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Experience supporting engineering research computing. Experience developing embedded computational platforms for real-time control of power conversion and systems management infrastructure. Experience with Linux systems and Linux based computational platforms
