Detailed Job Description The College of Art and Design (CAD) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) invites qualified individuals to apply for the full-time, hourly position of Scheduling Officer. The scheduling officer is a member of the Dean's staff working on campus and reports to the Sr. Associate Dean. This role is responsible for generating course schedules for CAD, provides subject matter expertise to RIT's schedule entry system (SIS), and assures the accuracy of the electronic class schedule entered. The Scheduling Officer serves on the college curriculum committees and works closely with the Registrar's Office to stay current with curriculum changes made to the master course data. The Scheduling Officer also serves on the CAD Policy Committee assisting with documentation of processes and procedures for effective and efficient scheduling of courses, exams and academic space and is a member of Scheduling Officers Council.
Each term scheduling classes and sections while adhering to the CAD scheduling policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of current RIT scheduling policies and procedures. Review master schedules for faculty in conjunction with academic programs. Responsible for accuracy of class information entered into SIS.
Compile, generate and update RIT Undergraduate and Graduate Bulletin publications for CAD; collaborate with college administrators, graduate directors, and undergraduate program directors to implement an accurate, annual RIT publication for perspective students.
Supervise, mentor and coordinate the work of the CAD Scheduling Assistant.
Consult with and inform academic program chairs on room scheduling to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of all internal resources - classroom, studio, lab and auditorium.
Independently analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves conflicts with scheduling and registration data, follows-up with the academic program chairs to resolve them, and accurately enters revised data into SIS.

College of Art and Design The College of Art and Design is RITs creative hub where art, design, science, and technology intersect. With five schoolsArt, Design, American Crafts, Film and Animation, and Photographic Arts and Sciencesthe college offers majors in disciplines related to visual communication, imaging, and science. Required Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2-4 years experience working in higher education course scheduling environment
Working knowledge of registration policies and procedures
Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills, including the ability to establish and meet timelines and make decisions
Must be able to multi-task -- capable of planning long-range schedules while dealing with current day-to-day situations and frequent interruptions
Excellent customer service skills are essential
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with a demonstrated ability to produce professional communications that meet high standards for appearance, grammar, spelling, and clarity.
Ability to work independently as well as contribute as part of a team
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Google documents.
General knowledge of RIT processes, policies, programs and resources
Familiarity with Oracle, Event Management System, time card management, and use of file shares
PeopleSoft knowledge or similar student record management software is a plus
