MORE ABOUT THIS JOB Position Engineering As part of our global team we are seeking a hands on software engineer.
We are currently undertaking a multi-year initiative to re-engineer our trade lifecycle management, valuations, and control functions. This includes the data processing pipeline that we operate to compute the firms daily positions and valuations for PNL, accounting and reporting purposes. We also own a number of critical functions within the firm's front-to-back trade flow whilst working closely with business and engineering aligned teams across the firm.
The role will give you an opportunity to develop distributed and scalable position management and valuation platform posing a greenfield development opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Why work with us?
You will participate in the full software development lifecycle for microservice architecture written in Java, SQL, NoSQL, Kafka and RESTful web services.
Design, develop, test, peer-review and document high-quality code in a structured, disciplined, and fast-moving environment. Solve emerging analytical and algorithmic problems.
Learn how to run mission critical platforms.
Work with business and operations users as well as other engineers globally.
Apply a discerning mind set to production issues - always preferring a root cause fix over a temporary hack.
Help support and replace existing critical applications with the best in class software.
BSc or above in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering (or other equivalent work experience).
Knowledge of Java 8/11 with solid understanding of core development concepts and design patterns.
RESTful web services.
Complex debugging and root-cause analysis.
Operating in an Agile environment.
Experience with Cloud and Containers
Exposure to NoSQL solutions, for example MongoDB.
Experience working with messaging solutions such as Apache Kafka.
UNIX environment working experience.
