The Lead Software Engineer - Hybrid Architectures - Clinical Trials for Cancer Research works with the technical architect, manager and business stakeholders in understanding the business need and writing quality code in an agile environment that aligns with the product roadmap. As a member of the project team, you will architect, design and develop highly scalable and secure software using agile practices, interact with business partners, service providers and third-party vendors and take part in different phases of software development lifecycle.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in design and development of high-quality software using industry standard best practices
Write software including unit/integration tests, perform code/design reviews. Provide guidance by identifying and articulating problems, then finding solutions and driving them to conclusion
Experience designing and building production level software that are secure and scalable
Lead design discussions and serve as a technical lead for development across one or more applications or functional areas within a product
Prior experience in modernizing legacy applications and cloud native solutions
Work with infrastructure and shared services for successful software deployment and monitoring
Research and recommend solutions to difficult technical and business problems
Passion for software engineering excellence including unit testing, process improvements and automation
Demonstrate complex topics to a diverse audience, including business leaders and stakeholders in Sprint Reviews
5+ years' experience creating hybrid architectures using cloud and on-prem installation using industry best practices
Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
Strong Java, Spring Boot and Hibernate
Experience in development and deployment using Cloud native solutions (Azure preferred)
Ability to learn and implement new technologies and processes
Solid organizational skills, attention to details and multitasking is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Technologies is a plus
4-year college degree or equivalent experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without support from McKesson. Relocation is NOT budgeted for this position.
