Seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager in our Atlanta, North Druid Hills office to join the McKesson Relay Pharmacy team.

The Senior Software Engineering Manager willmodernize systems using a cloud first architecture with a newly formed team and drive a modernization effort across the product portfolio. Initially reporting to the Sr. Director of Architecture, the manager is accountable for managing resources, processes, and development using a cloud first architecture. This is a hands-on role and the manager will need to be comfortable working with multiple technologies and have a strong understanding of cloud environments.
Work closely with Infrastructure, Architecture, and Project Management for understanding the functional and non-functional requirements of systems, services, and product offerings
Lead new platform development utilizing cloud first deployments with a reliance on cloud and on-premise services
Coordinate release, sprint, and project planning with coordinated meetings as needed to ensure project tracking and completion
Resolve technical problems, issues, and escalations within delivery team and project activities
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development
Maintain and monitor individual employees' performance plans
Investigate/evaluate new technologies for use within our business solutions
Ensures appropriate resource capacity planning and managing risks/barriers to ensure continued forward momentum in our projects
Work with Security teams in the implementation of our security strategies
Responsible for the day-to-day management product/program issues. Involves team members as needed to resolve issues within reasonable time frames and drives escalation needs when necessary
Development of appropriate training programs to ensure teams grow and operate efficiently/effectively for themselves and the organization
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization
Typically 6 to 9 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managerial experience, and 2+ years experience with cloud (GCP/Azure)
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience with the software development lifecycle from conception to delivery
Demonstrated experience in the ability to coordinate and contribute to the design of systems including operational alignment, scaling, boundary conditions, and architectural decisions
Influence engineers at all levels from new graduates to senior engineering leadership
Demonstrated experience with cloud (GCP/Azure), with a preference to candidates that have modernized on-premise systems into the cloud
Strong grasp of the SDLC with a DevSecOps focus, and able to deliver operational ready systems
You are comfortable working with product managers, infrastructure teams, and leaders at all levels
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Ability to write code in multiple languages and while not part of their daily job, enjoys coding and has not lost these skills
Experience in one or more of Java, C#, Python, Go
Prefer Healthcare business domain knowledge especially in the area of Pharmacy transactions
Experience with high transactional systems, predictive analytics, and interoperability
Experience working with solutions in highly regulated industries (eg Healthcare, Financial)
Experience with containerization patterns, best practices, and architecture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
