The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) in the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Swenson College of Science and Engineering (SCSE) invites applications for one full- or two part-time term Instructor (job code 9404) or Assistant Professor (job code 9403) position(s). The educational and/or research focus preferred is in the general area of digital logics, microprocessors, and multicore/multiprocessors. Appointment Dates are August 23, 2021 - May 22, 2022.
The successful candidate is expected to teach at the undergraduate level, with a preference for the capability to teach graduate level coursework. A full-time teaching load equates to up to 3 courses per semester (fall 2021 and spring 2022). The teaching load of a part-time position will be negotiated accordingly. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field • Demonstrated technical experience in digital systems and/or multicore/multiprocessor systems. • Teaching experience in higher education • Experience or ability to teach subjects on FPGA, SoC, or loT (hardware and software) • Demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills • Willingness to interact with the public and private sectors or have industrial experience • Experience in working with diverse populations
