Detailed Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Student Affairs, this position provides leadership and day-to-day administrative support to the Center for Campus Life and Student Government (SG).

This position will:
  • Serve as initial department/SG respondent for public contacts, providing appropriate problem resolution, campus information, and resource referral.
  • Manage office facilities and administrative operations for central department suite and SG suite inclusive of all audit and limited scope recommendations/implementation in the department, all department/SG supply and equipment inventories, maintenance of appropriate office physical environment, and department record and file management and compliance for staff of 20 full-time employees.
  • Coordinate the logistical and operational planning for department and significant campus-wide programs and events.
  • Provide program/event support for the Student Government Cabinet, Senate and Administrative Advisors.
  • Coordinate administrative functions for department search processes including position postings, search advisory team support, closing of processes, and hiring procedures.
  • Serve as the technology coordinator for the department to provide oversight of technology purchases and inventory.
  • Provide personnel management & coordination of all hiring processes for Student Government.
  • Supervise a student team including 2-3 undergraduate students and 1 Graduate Assistant.
This position requires a student-centered individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong administrative, organizational, and problem solving abilities. This position works closely with campus partners, community members, and student

Required Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
  • Two to three years with Associates Degree in Business/Office/Administrative management or related field in a dynamic and highly interactive work environment. OR
  • Three to five years of progressive experience with HS/GED in similar environment and managing mid-level and/or senior-level leadership administrative support.
Skills:
  • Must have progressive responsibilities in a highly interactive office setting and demonstrated success in managing diverse customer and client service needs.
  • Excellent ability to manage office staffing, inventory, and environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relations
  • Advanced knowledge of applications associated with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
