Successful candidateswillbeÂ experienced professionals, creativesÂ or researchersÂ with higher education teaching experience and holdingÂ aÂ BA, BS,MA, MS, MFA, MBA, PhD or equivalent.
The position includes teaching and co-teaching courses to a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students, in residence and online, with backgrounds in the arts and design,Â engineering, computer science, general technology,media and entertainment, education, communication,Â and/or business entrepreneurship.Â
Candidates should have aÂ background inÂ one of the following areas, and preferablyÂ several intersecting disciplines or fields:
Art and Design

Â· ProductÂ and/or IndustrialÂ Design

Â· Experience Design,Â including Live Experiences
Â· InteractionÂ Design
Â· Design Strategy
Â· Multi-Disciplinary Design Project TeamsÂ and Processes
TechnologyÂ and Engineering
Â· HTML, CSS and Client-SideÂ Scripting andÂ Frameworks
Candidates should have aÂ minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience (or the equivalent in part-timeÂ or adjunctÂ positions)Â at the collegeÂ orÂ university level (graduate and undergraduate preferred) and demonstrated success in mentoring and advising students in and beyond their education.Â Preference will be given to candidates who can also show evidence of teaching innovations, extensive and effective use of technology in the classroom, and an ability to work well in non-traditional educational settings.
In addition to having a broad awareness of and active presence in design, technology and/or business-related fields and endeavors (or other areas as applicable), the candidate must be a team player who will mentor students and peers and provide vision for this groundbreaking cross-disciplinary program, within the strategic goals of this top-tier research university. The candidate should also be interested in forging relationships and building opportunities with other schools and departments at USC, including but not limited to the schools of Art and Design, Business, Engineering and Communication.
