What you’ll be doing...
As a Network Planning member of technical staff, you will be responsible for engaging in 5G Vertical ecosystems to develop Industry Standards related to both Domestic Spectrum Policy and the Satellite Ecosystem. With a focus on preparing 5G and next gen networks to meet requirements and performance capabilities, you will be responsible for technology analysis, thought leadership, and driving Verizon priorities, strategic interests and objectives in Industry Groups and Regulatory discussions. You’ll be analyzing and designing E2E architecture and systems to optimize network capabilities and support innovative applications for standardization and commercialization.
Participate in and provide thought leadership in Satellite and Spectrum focused Industry Groups and Forums to represent Verizon’s priorities.
Evaluate and author Industry Group contributions to drive Verizon positions and alignment with operators, vendors, enterprises and Regulatory/FCC.
Partner with Network Planning and stakeholder organizations to define strategic approaches to spectrum planning and how Satellites can interact with terrestrial networks, ensuring alignment across all of Verizon’s business units.
Collaborate with DC regulatory groups and relevant Standards Bodies as a technical subject matter expert on Spectrum and Satellite verticals.
Align and support robust communication of approved spectrum policy across all internal stakeholder groups. Leverage technology to streamline program management/oversight.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time (some international).
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or any other related field.
More than seven to ten years of telecom industry experience with a focus on spectrum strategy and/or policy.
Experience leading complex projects requiring a high-level of stakeholder engagement across multiple organizations.
Experience with large scale strategy development.
Experience in RF network architecture, Engineering, and Operations.
Strong people leader with an ability to influence, grow and develop relationships.
Detail-oriented, results driven, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with relative independence in area of responsibility.
Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways.
Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
Demonstrated ability to lead strategically and across broad areas of a business.
Ability to own issues/risk decisions and manage on an ongoing basis.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and organize data and develop recommendations.
